Species of Concern: Pygmy Rabbit
Sagebrush Flat near Ephrata, Washington, is the last remaining natural habitat of the Columbia Basin pygmy rabbit. This slate-gray, sage-dependent rabbit, which weighs less than a guinea pig, was recently declared endangered. Fewer than 50 are known to exist.
