The New Commission on the Skills of the American Workforce
In December 2006 this commission "unveiled recommendations calling for the biggest changes in the American education system in a century." Suggestions include offering universal pre-kindergarten programs, and enrolling students in college after 10th grade. In October 2008 three governors announced their support. Includes a 28-page summary of the report, "Tough Choices or Tough Times," and links to media coverage and to other commission papers. From the National Center on Education and the Economy (NCEE).
