Stretching Your Horse's Hay Supply During Drought
This fact sheet addresses horse owner concerns in "drought conditions [which] result in poor hay and pasture production and rising feed costs. Often, horse owners are forced to find alternative feed sources to either 'stretch' their limited hay supply, or completely replace it." Includes information about alternative fiber sources such as alfalfa hay, grass hays, beet pulp, and soy hulls. From Colorado State University Extension.
