Getting Groundhogs Out of Gardens
This fact sheet suggests humane ways to keep groundhogs (also known as woodchucks or whistle-pigs) out of the garden and from burrows under a porch or building. It notes that "[t]rapping and relocating groundhogs may ... lead to starving young left behind. It is much more effective to simply exclude groundhogs from areas where they're not wanted." From the Humane Society of the United States.
