The Hoover Dam: Lonely Lands Made Fruitful
The construction of the dam is presented in the context of the Great Depression, its enormity a metaphor for strength and modernity in a time of hardship. The site has social commentary about the creation of Boulder City, maps and plans, Franklin D. Roosevelt's dedication speech, and photographs taken throughout the project, including several of the Colorado River diversion process.
