Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, Highway Loss Data Institute (IIHS-HLDI)
The IIHS is a nonprofit organization "dedicated to reducing the losses ... from crashes on the nation's highways." Its affiliate organization, the HLDI, "compute[s] and publish[es] insurance loss results by [automobile] make and model. Both organizations are wholly supported by auto insurers." The site includes crash test ratings for new and older models of automobiles, research and statistics on highway fatalities, an overview of laws and regulations, and newsletters.
