"Special Olympics is an international organization dedicated to empowering individuals with intellectual disabilities to become physically fit, productive and respected members of society through sports training and competition." The site contains registration guidelines, a history of Special Olympics, a calendar of events and competitions, a program locator, information on coaching and volunteering, and a "language guide" for use "by anyone writing or speaking about people with intellectual disabilities."
