This site features estimates, "tax facts," news, and analysis about potential changes in the federal tax system, such as the 2005 concepts of repealing the deduction for state and local taxes, and replacing the income tax with a tax on consumption. The center is a joint venture of the Urban Institute and the Brookings Institution.
