Alaska Volcano Observatory (AVO)
This observatory "uses federal, state, and university resources to monitor and study Alaska's hazardous volcanoes, to predict and record eruptive activity, and to mitigate volcanic hazards." The site features photographs and updates for major volcanoes such as Augustine (with recorded activity from 1812 through 2006), a list of over 100 active and inactive volcanoes, a glossary, and more. A joint program of the United States Geological Survey (USGS) and government bodies in Alaska.
