The 1906 San Francisco Earthquake: 100 Years Later
Companion to a March 2006 Public Broadcasting Service (PBS) Online NewsHour program about the 1906 San Francisco earthquake and related earthquake science developments. The site includes a map showing active earthquake faults in Northern California (with probabilities of major quakes in the next 30 years), photos of 1906 quake effects, an interactive feature "Will This Building Stand?" (for unreinforced masonry, residential wood frame, retrofitted wooden, and base isolation buildings), and a lesson plan.
