Biography of economist Milton Friedman, "recipient of the 1976 Nobel Memorial Prize for economic science [and] a senior research fellow at the Hoover Institution from 1977 to 2006. He passed away on Nov. 16, 2006." Discusses Friedman's work on monetary economics, his writing on public policy, and other accomplishments. "The Hoover Institution has been helping preserve the handwritten diaries of Chiang Kai-shek and his son Chiang Ching-kuo since Chiang family members deposited them at Hoover in 2005. Those diaries of the former presidents of the Republic of China are on deposit at the Hoover Institution pending the creation of a suitable repository on Chinese territory."
