The Textile Museum in Washington, D.C. is dedicated to the study, preservation, interpretation, and exhibition of over 5,000 years of the textile arts of non-Western cultures. Its Web site provides an artful taste of the museum's collection, featuring online versions of current exhibitions, a calendar of events, an overview of the museum's Textile Learning Center, and annotated links. An additional resource is the" Care and Display" section with information about conservation consultations and four complete pamphlets which cover pest control and also the care, storage, and hanging of textiles.

Examples of fragments of 16th and 17th century Persian rugs, including "three principal surviving fragments of one spectacular 16th-century Khorasan rug [which] are reunited in this exhibition. ... These pieces also fit together like a puzzle, allowing us to glimpse the grand scale of the original carpet."
