This exhibition tells "how camellias were brought from the Far East in the early 1700s to Europe, and then to America, how they were identified and named, and...developed by 19th-century specialist growers. The exhibit includes some of the very earliest published depictions of the camellia, from as far back as 1702, as well as gorgeous handcolored copperplate engravings...." This library began with the donation of a portion of the Fox Movietonews newsreels covering 1919-1934 and September 1942-August 1944 and continues to receive other film collections. Contains film clips of George Bernard Shaw, Adolph Hitler, Helen Keller and her teacher, Anne Sullivan, Babe Ruth rounding the bases, the Movietone wartime logo, and more. A few stills are also available. Searchable.

African Americans Seen Through the Eyes of the Newsreel Cameraman view detail comment email this

This small digital collection features newsreels of African Americans selected from the period of 1919 to 1963 when "Fox News and Fox Movietone News camera crews covered the people and events of the country and, indeed, the world."
