Species of Concern: Pygmy Rabbit

Description:
Sagebrush Flat near Ephrata, Washington, is the last remaining natural habitat of the Columbia Basin pygmy rabbit. This slate-gray, sage-dependent rabbit, which weighs less than a guinea pig, was recently declared endangered. Fewer than 50 are known to exist. This site outlines a captive breeding program sponsored by the Washington State Department of Fish and Wildlife and Washington State University. The site features a summary of the program, photographs, links, and streaming videos.
