Psychotherapy for All: An Experiment URL: http://www.nytimes.com/2008/03/11/health/11psych.html?_r=2&oref=slogin Description: This March 2008 article describes a project in India "that has the potential to transform mental health treatment in the developing world. Instead of doctors, the program trains laypeople to identify and treat depression and anxiety and sends them to six community health clinics." The article notes that depression and anxiety are not only Western afflictions and that "severe depression can be as disabling as physical diseases." From The New York Times.
