Snowy River Passage: Fort Stanton Cave

"In recent years, caver explorers have discovered miles of new cave within the Fort Stanton Cave in Lincoln County, New Mexico. This new discovery is the biggest new American cave discovery in decades." This site describes how the cave was found, and provides a photo gallery of the cave, the bottom of which is covered with "bright white" calcite coatings. From the Bureau of Land Management (BLM).
