Tibetan Healing Mandala

Description:
This companion to an exhibit at the Arthur M. Sackler Gallery of the Smithsonian Institution features information about the mandala ("a geometric composition wherein deities reside") and Tibetan Buddhism. "In response to the September 11 tragedies, twenty Buddhist monks from the Drepung Loseling Monastery constructed a sand mandala" at the gallery.
