Spain -- History -- Civil War, 1936-1939 Abraham Lincoln Brigade Archives (ALBA) Established by the Veterans of the Brigade (VALB), this handsome and well maintained site is "devoted to the preservation and dissemination of the history of the North American role in the Spanish Civil War (1936-1939) and its aftermath." As much for the casual browser as the professional historian, ALBA provides images from traveling exhibits, suggested reading, a discussion group, and information about the organization's extensive archives at Brandeis University.
