Battle Lines: Letters from America's Wars view detail comment email this

This exhibit features "correspondence from over 200 years of American conflicts, ranging from the Revolution to the war in Iraq." Features audio and digitized images of the letters, which explore themes such as home, love, enlisting, and combat. Also includes brief information about the authors of the letters. This site is from the Legacy Project, a "national, all-volunteer effort dedicated to encouraging Americans to seek out and preserve wartime correspondence before these letters are lost or damaged." The site includes information about how to preserve and display letters, and about donating letters to the project. Also features information on the Armed Services Editions (ASEs) program, which distributes free paperback books to American troops.
