Ferries -- Washington (State) -- Puget Sound Kalakala: The World's First Streamlined Vessel A site for preservation efforts for the Kalakala, an Art Deco ferry in service in Puget Sound in Washington state from 1935 through the mid-1960s, and listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2006. This site provides a brief history of the Mosquito Fleet and of the development of the MFT, "a 57-mile roadside hike and bike route along the shores of the Kitsap Peninsula" that will connect historic Mosquito Fleet docks.
