Primary funding for LII is through the Library Services and Technology Act, administered in California through the State Librarian.

LII also receives funding to provide services to the California Digital Library. LII creates over records describing Websites created by University of California campuses. We maintain these items and regularly export these items to CDL in a special XML set. See our Partner Program page for more information about how your state can participate in LII.

In an attempt to continue service in the face of decreasing grant funds, LII will use revenues from ads and institutional subscriptions (to an ad-free version) to supplement our budget.
