Online lessons for several instruments and a directory of over 1000 music-related sites are also included. 8notes.com owns the copyright to most of the sheet music provided (in-house editions of out-of-copyright music) and has permissions for the rest.

AMC is an "organization and information center for new music." The site offers access to NewMusicBox , an online magazine; and NewMusicJukebox , "an online library and listening room." The site also has "an online catalog of new music...to use with young audiences," a listing of opportunities for students and professionals, links to other resources, and information about the group's professional development programs. AMC was founded in 1939 under the leadership of Aaron Copland.

"Canterbury" serves as a handy identifier for the influential network of adventurous musicians and bands (including Soft Machine, Caravan, and Gong) that emerged from this region of southern England in the 1960s. Many of these bands had a whimsical pop sensibility and showed strong jazz, folk and classical influences. All of them are described in this site, which includes sections for bands and individuals, discographies, lyrics, and concert and tour dates for the many performers who are still active.
