Official website for this monument (formerly called the Northwestern Hawaiian Islands Coral Reef Ecosystem Reserve) formally established in June 2006 by the Bush Administration. Features a virtual visit (with photos and descriptions of tiny islands, atolls and shoals), maps, and details about scientific research and cultural and maritime heritage. The organization's Web site provides information about why reefs should be saved, what people can do to help, and how the organization is working through research and educational activities to help conserve reefs.
