Websites presented in alphabetical order Dot-Com Layoffs and Shutdowns For anyone trying to follow the news of the "dot coms" and researching which companies are laying off workers, being bought, or ceasing business entirely. This chart from The Wall Street Journal lists companies alphabetically and details any layoffs, closures, or stock news. It also tells who owns the companies, if they are public or private, and the big names backing them.
