Keep track of a variety of satellites: spacecraft, weather, amateur (HAM) radio, and search and rescue. Find the latitude, longitude, and altitude for the various objects. Sloan Digital Sky Survey (SDSS): SkyServer view detail comment email this

Data from a "project to make a map of a large part of the universe." The project is "a 5-year survey of the Northern sky (10,000 square degrees) to about 1/2 arcsecond resolution using a modern ground-based telescope [SDSS]. It will characterize about 200M objects in 5 optical bands, and will measure the spectra of a million objects." The site has science projects and links to other education sites, information on astronomy, a FAQ, and a glossary.

An interactive planetarium. By entering a city, or the latitude and longitude, maps can be produced for "any time and date, viewpoint, and observing location." Maps can also be customized including viewpoint, magnitude, and other display options. Skies may also be viewed from the horizon. An "ephemeris for the sun, moon, planets, and any tracked asteroid or comet" is included for each map. Orbital elements of asteroids or comets can also be plotted.
