The Downing Street "Memo" is a document containing meeting minutes transcribed during a British Prime Minister's meeting made eight months prior to the invasion of Iraq in March 2003. The Times of London printed it in May 2005. This site provides information about the "meaning and context of these documents as they relate to the Bush administration's case for war." Includes the memo, related documents, analysis, excerpts of media comments, and related information.

In early May of 2005, the British newspaper The Times received and published leaked classified documents from 2002 about the Bush administration's case for the invasion of Iraq, including the so-called Downing Street Memo. The newspaper's website provides access to the several stories written about the documents and related events, with links to the documents themselves.

This December 30, 2004, Department of Justice memo provides a new definition of torture updated since the Iraqi prison abuse scandal. The memo states that "severe" pain need not be limited to pain "equivalent in intensity to the pain accompanying serious physical injury, such as organ failure, impairment of bodily function, or even death."
