This group is dedicated to Maud Hart Lovelace, the children's book author who is best known for her "Betsy-Tacy" series. The site has information about the book series, which provides a fictionalized account of Lovelace's childhood at the turn of the twentieth century in Mankato (renamed Deep Valley), Minnesota. This searchable database contains information about photographs, artwork, posters, and other visual works from the extensive Minnesota Historical Society collections. These items "visually represent Minnesotans, their lives, landscapes, leisure and occupations from the pre-territorial period to the present." More than 180,000 items have been entered in the database. Of these, sixty percent have a corresponding visual image.
