It was launched in February 1996 and the last reception was February, 2001, in order to "answer fundamental questions about the nature and origin of near-Earth objects, such as the numerous asteroids and comets in the vicinity of Earth's orbit." Current status reports are available including trajectory/approach diagrams. There is also science and engineering data. This site provides updates, links, and information related to the mission, which is slated to end in August, 2003. There are images of the planet, four of its moons (Io, Europa, Ganymede, and Callisto), and its rings and small satellites. Images of Earth and its moon, Venus, some asteroids, and the Shoemaker-Levy Comet taken on route are also included. By entering a city, or the latitude and longitude, maps can be produced for "any time and date, viewpoint, and observing location." Maps can also be customized including viewpoint, magnitude, and other display options. Skies may also be viewed from the horizon. An "ephemeris for the sun, moon, planets, and any tracked asteroid or comet" is included for each map.
