The Central Asia Institute promotes "literacy, women's vocational skills, and awareness of public health and environmental issues through community initiated education programs in mountain regions of Central Asia." The organization has developed schools (many focusing on educational opportunities for girls), established vocational centers and scholarships for women, and collaborated with local communities on other initiatives.
