It provides annotated images of documents relating to the U.S. relationship with Iraq in the early 1980s, weapons of mass destruction, Desert Storm, and 1992 Iraqi war criminals. Also includes aerial photos. These photographs were taken along "'the mile of death' [a road north of Kuwait City] the morning the day the war stopped." According to photographer Peter Turnley, the "televised, aerial, and technological version of the conflict" failed to show the horror of its human realities as does this collection. Includes guidelines for participating in the project, including tips for interviewing veterans and writing memoirs.
