This Web-only bi-monthly magazine presents original short fiction, poetry, essays, and book and film reviews from established authors (Douglas Coupland, Pinckney Benedict, Scott Heim, Laura Hird, and others) and "new kids on the Net" (such as William Cuthbertson, Aimee Houser, and Victor Saunders). Past issues (from the beginning in 1997) are browsable by author and literary type. Most of the material is available in English and Spanish (Castellano); some is translated into Catalan and/or French.

Original projects are brought to life every three months through creative collaboration between writers and artists." The "Just Born" section features poetry, short fiction, and creative non-fiction. The "Birthing Room" section contains works that explore storytelling techniques using interactive media, animation, and design. Includes archived material.

"National Novel Writing Month [NaNoWriMo] is a fun, seat-of-your-pants approach to novel writing. Participants begin writing November 1. The goal is to write a 175-page (50,000-word) novel by midnight, November 30." Includes a history ("The very first NaNoWriMo took place in July, 1999, in the San Francisco Bay Area."), information about participating in this activity, a list of authors (with a current word count and excerpt), a discussion forum, podcast (WrimoRadio), and even a countdown clock.
