The 2300 works are mostly poetry; there are also photographs, union memorabilia, early twentieth-century postcards, and theater programs. The five images, which are accompanied by full annotations, demonstrate how biblical imagery was used to comment on social and economic issues of the day. The dramas, political commentary, advice shows, talent shows, and music provided entertainment and comfort.
