Users may report earthquakes, view information about recent quakes and volcanic eruptions, and access information on hazards preparation, research, maps, and historic quakes. Eruption summaries are available for eight Cascade volcanoes. A digital map contains the description for each geologic feature with information for the eras in which it was formed. "Rock of Ages" is a timeline of each geologic era linked to the regions of the map. "Boundaries" shows two more maps: one with geomorphic, or physiographic, regions; the other with state boundaries. The type of environmental information includes: Superfund sites, drinking water, toxic and air releases, hazardous waste, and water discharge permits. You can also view this information in context by adding map features to your map," such as churches, schools, and hospitals. It also introduces zone 11 to represent areas ... that are ... essentially frost free." The site features bird, human, mosquito, sentinel, and veterinary maps. ("Sentinel chickens are birds placed in cages that are exposed to mosquitoes in the area. Chickens that are bitten by infected mosquitoes develop antibodies, but are not otherwise affected by the virus.")
